About the event

All art forms  - music, art, writing, theatre, film – art in all its forms is subjective – it appeals to different people for different reasons – evokes lots of different emotions.

We are drawn to art in different ways – often before we know who created the work we admire.

How do we react when we learn that an artist whose work we like has done something horrible? Does it change our view of their work? Should it? - Is it ethical to enjoy good art made by “bad people”?

Are we comfortable supporting someone who has said or done horrible things through engaging with their art?

Should we feel bad about enjoying art by someone who has committed criminal acts or who society has deemed repugnant?

Is art different to any other commodity that we may choose not to purchase because of an issue in its manufacture?
