About the event

This specially organised walk shows the various elements of a sustainable future present, right now, in and around Chester City Centre.

Biodiversity, local food, renewable energy, energy conservation, green transport and a healthy local economy all feature in this fascinating walk around central Chester.

The walk explores already existing examples of low carbon and sustainable ways of doing things helping us to live lightly in our beautiful city and pointing the way to a hopeful future.

In some cases, a look at the past is visited through some of the various existing structures that can still be seen today.

Starting at Chester’s Award Winning Bus Exchange, the guided walk follows a wheels-accessible circular route of approximately 4 miles around the central area of Chester lasting some 2 1/2 to 3 hours with frequent stops along the way to highlight some of Chester’s little known sustainability features.

Plenty of time for questions and discussion!”

This event is free to attend – donations may be requested on the day to support Transition Town Chester.

The walk is a repeat of the walk last year but in hopefully more clement weather. If you came last time you might wish to join part way through though there will still be lots of change to see and a whole section most of us didn’t see last time at all! Everything looks good in the (hoped for) sunshine. 😊
