If ignorance can bring happiness does it matter?

If you could live life content and happy, with everything you needed but, (perhaps as people used to be) unaware of the state of the world and how other people lived would you? Would that be OK?

Like in the film the Matrix, if you had the chance to live a wonderful life and carry on doing so, would you choose to do that even if you knew it wasn't real and that you were living a happy lie? If offered the choice would you a pill that kept you in a happy and blissfull state of ignorance or instead, one that revealed the absolute truth of reality?
